Grand Theft Auto 6 is literally massive as its file size was just revealed and we now know how much space we're going to need on our consoles as well as Rockstar trying to prevent leaks leading up to the release date and a whole lot more. We'll be diving into all of that in this video today. So, let's get it started. All right. So, the social media account PlayStation game size, who has a almost perfect track record at getting the exact download size of PlayStation games, and I don't know how they do it, and I would imagine the size is also going to be very, very similar on Xbox Series X and S, but this is what they had to say. Grand Theft Auto 6 download size 210 gigabytes. standard $79.99, preload November 12th, release November 19th, release time midnight. So that file size is literally massive. It makes it one of the biggest video games of all time. And even if we compare it to just Rockstar Games titles, it actually, of course, makes it the largest Rockstar Games title. In fact, it is double the size of Rockstar's biggest and most detailed game ever, Red Dead Redemption 2. and that was 105 gigabytes. So, at double the size, Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to actually be mindblowing. The level of quality you're going to get with 210 GB is really insane. And remember that Grand Theft Auto 6, at least in its current form, is just a singleplayer experience. Rockstar hasn't mentioned Grand Theft Auto Online 2.0 or GTA 6's multiplayer at all. We don't know what that's going to be like. We don't know if it's going to be a separate title. We don't know if it's going to be an additional add-on. So, with GTA Online coming on top, we could very easily be looking at over 250 GB of storage just within a few years. Now, Grand Theft Auto 6's file size might also be an indicator on why Rockstar chose to not have a physical disc release. Because on PlayStation, the discs themselves are limited to 100 GB. So, Grand Theft Auto 6 would have required three physical discs if Rockstar Games did a release that way. Now, Rockstar have done that in the past. They did it with Red Dead Redemption 2. They did it with Grand Theft Auto 5 having multiple discs. So, I don't know why that would have been a problem this time around, but maybe they just thought they didn't want to do that, so they kept it to a digital release only and the physical copy of course only having a code in the box. Now, that file size really gets big when you compare it across the entire Grand Theft Auto series. So, the first Grand Theft Auto game, which came out in 1997, that was around 80 megabytes. Grand Theft Auto 2 in 2001, was even smaller at around 70 megabytes. GTA 3 jumped up to 500 megabytes. Grand Theft Auto Vice City was the first game in gigabytes at 1.6. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas coming in at around 3.9. Grand Theft Auto 4 with the biggest jump going all the way up to around 22 GB. And then Grand Theft Auto 5, which was massive at the time with its base game of 60 gigabytes, but expanded to around 100 to 120 with all the online updates and DLC's. So, with that file size being announced, obviously a lot of you guys probably need to go through your system right now and of course clear out roughly 210 gigabytes worth of space, which is obviously a ton of memory. So, you're either going to have to delete some stuff or you're going to have to purchase an extended hard drive or a alternative disc storage unit that you can maybe put some of your older games on or cloud storage or whatever the case is. It's a really massive file size and also depending on your internet speed, it's going to take a really long time to download this game, which of course is why Rockstar Games is letting people preload the game, at least 99.9% of it a week early. But depending on how fast people's internet is, but just to give you an idea on how long it's going to take to install with, you know, the average amount of internet, and you can do this basically with any speed you want. There's websites out there, but let's say your internet is at 10 megabits per second download. It's going to take you nearly 47 hours to download the game. Let's say your internet is twice as fast as that at 20 megabits. It's still going to take an entire day, 24 hours to download the game. If you get all the way up to 50 megabits per second, it's a little over 9 hours to download the game. And if you're at 100 megabits per second, it still takes nearly 5 hours to download Grand Theft Auto 6. That is why they are letting people install the game early because it's going to take a boatload amount of time. And if they did that all on day one, there's no way the servers would be able to handle it. It would just completely crash. So Grand Theft Auto 6's file size is really mental. And that's with everything being completely compressed on top of it. So the asset quality must be through the roof. We are getting again a humongous game. And now that we've got the game size, I don't think it'll be long until the GTA 6 trophies and achievements are revealed as well. Now, if Rockstar wants to avoid spoilers, their only hope is that they're worded in such a way in which it doesn't give anything away, but that's ultimately all down to Rockstar based on what's happened in the past. the trophies and achievements will end up coming out before the game releases, which again will give us an idea on maybe how the story might unfold or things you're able to do, collectibles or different endings perhaps. That's something that usually the trophies and achievements uh will reveal. And unfortunately for Rockstar, unless they do a good job of hiding it, there's really no way in which they can stop it from coming out. And speaking of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks and something we've been talking about over the last couple of days and over the last few videos, and that is review codes and review copies going out, well, apparently Rockstar Games are going to extreme measures to make sure that none of that video footage leaks out before November 18th and before November 19th. This is coming from a user on social media, Manabyte, who has been writing about pop culture, space, tech, and video games since 1996. He said this on social media. The GTA 6 leaks really spooked Rockstar. The review copies apparently are watermarked with the reviewer's name flashing on the screen to prevent leaks. This way if anyone leaks footage, Rockstar knows exactly what copy it came from and that reviewer and outlet becomes externally blacklisted from all future Rockstar releases. Now, there was a little bit more follow-up as someone said they can just blur it as people do with other games. No. and he said, "The way other games do it, like EA betas, the name jumps around the screen, so that makes it hard to blur in video." And it's in multiple spots, too. I've seen one that had the name literally in a grid all over the screen, transparent, though. Now, Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming also got in on this conversation, saying, "This is fairly standard stuff, and I wouldn't say the leak spooked Rockstar. They have always been like this. If a reviewer leaked anything, being blacklisted would be the least of their problems, to be honest." and he said they had a review camp for GTA 5 where people reviewed the game under Rockstar supervision. This is new for GTA. And Tom responding to that saying, "Yes, it's new, but it's industry standard for those measures to be put in place by companies when they do remote reviews." To be fair, Rockstar is also doing more security measures than you've said. It'll be interesting to see what those other security measures are and if we get any more details on that. But again, it's Rockstar, so this sort of stuff should not be surprising. And honestly, this is really smart by Rockstar. I'm sure there's other ways they could tell if video footage gets out who it came from, whether it be back-end details or metadata information, but obviously just putting giant watermarks on the screen. Uh, and especially for review copies and for casual gaming, it shouldn't be too distracting and too bad. And that also probably means that there won't be any video footage coming out in the reviews that people are doing. Because if it is jumping all over the screen, that kind of would be tough to make a review of. It might be distracting for viewers. And so maybe what I'm thinking is this review code is again just for text and screenshots potentially, not necessarily video footage. Again, only time will tell on if we get more details from Rockstar on hands-on previews, reviews, etc. And I would imagine that might be coming out over the next couple of days. And the fact that we're getting information on the review copies and details on that and how Rockstar wants to prevent leaks is a pretty good sign we're heading in that direction. It also seems like very soon, and this could happen over the next couple of hours or days, Rockstar Games is going to give us more information on the original score for Grand Theft Auto 6 because a new single from Justice in the Grand Theft Auto 6 album featuring Gassafelstein, hopefully I'm pronouncing his name correctly, has appeared on Spotify. The song is called Pusher, and it says it's from the Grand Theft Auto 6 original score. The track is quite long. It's over 7 minutes long and it seems to be releasing on October 29th officially, which is why right now, at least when I'm recording this video, it's only available for people in like New Zealand and Australia. The song is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend you take a listen to it for yourself. It gets me so excited to have this song coming on as we're doing some sort of heist or some sort of robbery in Grand Theft Auto 6. It sounds like a really awesome song. It also looks like the original score for Grand Theft Auto 6 is also going to be 50 musical tracks and also looks like it has a release date of December 11th. Again, I would suspect that we're probably going to get more information on this pretty soon from Rockstar officially. It's something they've mentioned in the past on their newswires that they'll give us complete and official details on the score. But this again, just kind of going back to the first thing we were talking about, how massive Grand Theft Auto 6 is. The fact that the original score of the game, this is just the music that you hear naturally in game, Rockstar task justice up with coming up with 50 songs. So that brings the total of original tracks for Grand Theft Auto 6 up to 84 when you include the 34 from the other album. That is absolutely insane. Again, that one is releasing on December 11th. So, it'll be probably 3 weeks or so after the game comes out, but it'll be right in time before Christmas if you're thinking that would make a good gift, or you just want to pick it up so you can listen to it in its entirety. And of course, if Rockstar Games decides to give official information on any of the things we talked about today, like the file size of the game or review copies and how that's going to work, and of course, details on the official score. I will be sure to keep you guys posted. But that is all the information I've got for you guys in this video today. Hopefully, you did enjoy.
