The download size for Grand Theft Auto 6 has been reported, and this is a hefty unit. It's coming in at 210 gigabytes, which makes GTA 6 one of the largest games of our lifetime. And the thing is, that's just at launch. Obviously, we're going to have a day one patch. There going to be all sorts of patches and updates and expansions and things like that that come out over the next decade that we're playing this game. So, she's a big girl and obviously there's a lot of size and detail in there. Now, uh, this information is coming from PlayStation game size. They tweeted this right here. And, uh, they have a long-standing track record of being accurate. I believe they scraped the back end of the PlayStation Network data to be able to get the information on these games. And, uh, I I mean, this is just crazy. So, to put it into perspective, at launch, Red Dead Redemption 2, which it did launch on PS4, so keep that in mind. It was 105 GB. So GTA 6 is double the size of Red Dead Redemption 2 at launch. GTA V was around 90 gigs at launch and then eventually I think it got up to like 125 or 130 or something like that. Now GTA V and online were together. So that's another thing when GTA 6 online comes out. Are they just going to tag it on this? Is it going to be a totally separate thing? Who knows? Now in terms of consoles, we have had a couple other games approach that 200 plus mark and some of the CODs plus War Zone got around there. I think some of them even got up to like 220 or something like that. But just think about how much game there is in that with an entire COD game plus the entire War Zone on the side. NBA 2K 24 was 160 gigs. Fors of Horizon 5 and both expansions was 155 gigs. Star Wars Jedi Survivor was about 150. And this one really blows my mind. Spider-Man 2 was just 86 GB. So I mean think about that. Like this game is three times the size of Spider-Man 2. Now, when we talk about size, we're not talking about just the physical size of the map here. That's definitely a piece of the equation, but like, you know, think if you have a building and you repeat that building a 100 times over a large area where it's just the same building over and over and over again. That is going to be a lot smaller of a file size than say a really small area with a hundred different buildings in it. So, it's not just the physical size. I mean, we're talking textures, character and environmental models, animations dialogue music sound effects, all sorts of stuff like that. Like, it's everything that encompasses a game allin-one, obviously, cuz it's the download size. You guys understand that. But I just like sometimes people just immediately jump to size. We're not talking just the physical size. We're talking about the size and the detail. It also depends on how all these assets are compressed and packaged. And obviously, some code is better than others. Like, you can have bloated code that takes up way more space than it has to. So, there's a lot of nuance here. But I mean, obviously, when we're talking about GTA 6 with the size of this open world that we're going to be playing in, the incredible level of detail, all of the activities, like I this is going to be the craziest game we have ever played and the largest game we've ever played, both in terms of size and in terms of the detail. What's really crazy to think about is so 210 gigs, if you have a 1 gigabyte per second internet connection, it's going to take you 28 minutes to download. If you got a 100meg, which is still decent. I mean, today's day and age, internet's getting faster. That's going to take you 4 hours and 40 minutes. And if you're unfortunately out in the sticks and you've only got a 10meg download, that's going to take you 46 hours and 40 minutes, almost two whole days to download this game. Now, the good news is obviously we know the game is going to be coming out November 19th. However, if you pre-ordered, you could start preloading on November 12th. So, you have an entire week to be able to download this. I certainly hope that's enough time for all of us to be able to get that done. I just can't believe this is happening, man. like we are just a little bit over three weeks away and we are actually going to be playing this game. Now, I will say usually shortly after stuff like this starts popping up. If it shows up on the back end, there are also going to be things like the trophy list and the achievements and things like that. So, just be a little bit careful about that. Obviously, you know, you don't want any spoilers when we're this close to the game. And honestly, the next couple of weeks are probably going to be a little bit crazy. I will say as of yesterday it was reported that Rockstar Games have begun to distribute review codes of Grand Theft Auto 6 to media outlets. Review embargo is November 18th. So uh I would imagine this is a very small trusted group of people that would definitely not do anything to jeopardize their relationship with Rockstar Games. Now I'll say I have not received anything. I haven't heard of any creators receiving anything. This is like traditional media outlets and reviews and things like that. We actually have a little preview of this. So, Xbox tweeted this, how our fall will be looking. And look at this image. This might be the first time we have ever seen GTA 6, the actual downloaded playable version of it out in the wild. So, you can see here, this is not a pre-order. You have the little Rockstar logo and stuff down here in the bottom. This is an actual launchable game as far as I'm concerned. So, whoever took this photo, congrats to you. You are currently playing GTA 6, which is just a wild thing to think about. I mean, there are actually GTA copies out in the wild being played right now. It doesn't feel like we should have gotten to this point. And uh it's honestly like I I wasn't sure how that was going to work out. There have been reports in the past that especially with Rockstar games, they would host like boot camps and journalists would come into Rockstar to be able to play there. So, there was no chance of it, you know, it's within their walls. It's not getting out where it could potentially be leaked. So, again, just be very, very careful about leaks. I'd be surprised if too much stuff comes out, but uh you know, the next couple of weeks and especially on November 18th, just be on the lookout for that. Obviously, we are going to be playing through the entire game here on this channel. But I'm going to be very, very careful with my titles and thumbnails and things like that to try to prevent that for you guys. Just I mean, you know, you know, right as soon as midnight hits on November 19th, there are going to be a couple YouTube channels out there with Jason dying, Lucia dying, third ending, everything else. So just if you want to experience it for yourself, I would recommend being careful from this point forward. Now in some really exciting news, we are going to get some more info later this week on Thursday. So Games Radar tweeted this. Grand Theft Auto 6 is the cover star of Edge number 430, which is their magazine. Inside is a 16-page report featuring exclusive Rockstar Games interviews and screenshots from the most ambitious game in the studios history. Special print issue features a double-sided gatefold cover design showcasing GTA 6 leads Jason and Lucia. And we actually we have like a a little preview. They have like a a really blurry video here. So, if I bring this full screen, it's going to briefly flip through the magazine here. And it's, you know, there are only a couple of pixels available here, so you can't see much. But, I did spot one thing. This one right here. Look at this thing right here. We've got Jason kind of wiping the sweat from his mouth or whatever. But, this really looks like the Max Pain 3 cover, which that is an absolutely fantastic game. If you guys haven't played it from Rockstar back in the day, I think we should have a series on the channel. But, uh, yeah, very excited for this. Hopefully, it's really good. our Game Informer article that we had like a month or two months ago. Time is flying by. That was fantastic. We had all sorts of tidbits about the animals and the the severe weather and things like that. I feel like the one we had after that, the love article, didn't really have as much information, but here we're going to get a ton of new screenshots and I mean 16 pages. There's got to be some gems in here. So, very excited to check this out. We will be breaking this down on Thursday. And last but not least, to round this thing out and just kind of turn it into a little update video. I was wanting to make one of these anyway. Uh Miami is still absolutely popping off. If you guys haven't seen it, I've actually been uploading short form on the channel as well as IG and Tik Tok. You guys can feel free to check that out. But, uh, the city is continuing to transform. It started with the CASSA center and the blimp and the beach chairs and umbrellas and things and all that kind of stuff. Now, we've got an actual burger shop and every Skinny Lou hamburger spot in Miami is going to be changing into Burger Shop in real life, which is crazy. Right now, there's just one, the Cassa Center. They've also got a clucking bell in the Cassa Center. There are coffee shops that have officially collaborated with Rockstar and they're releasing Leonita Blind coffees. There's the beers that are going to be coming out. We talked about that in the short as well. Like there's so much stuff happening and your boy may or may not be taking a little trip down the turnpike to Miami here soon. And I think Chelsea and I are going to do a little vlog just kind of checking everything out and show you guys all the real life activations. So, I'm very excited about that. Look out for that here on the channel. So, hope you guys enjoyed. Let me know what you guys think. The biggest game of all time. not not the biggest game file size. One of the largest games to ever release on console hype-wise and excitement wise, definitely the biggest game to ever release is just 3 weeks away. We are in the end of times these weeks are to go by in the blink of an eye and I absolutely cannot wait. November 12th when the preload begins, your boy's going to be up at midnight just to press that button, just to see it sitting on my console dashboard. Let know what you guys think down in the comments. Hope you guys enjoyed. Catch you all later. Peace out.
